Credit and Debit Card Fraud

in South Africa: An Elegant Adventure
Wondering if anyone can advise on the use of credit or debit cards in South Africa or Zimbabwe? I've read fraud is prevalent in these countries and I'm concerned about using my cards. Has anyone used the prepaid debit or credit cards and if so, did you have any problems with rejection. Any information on this topic would be appreciated. Thank you.

    We use a pre-loaded Visa credit card that we usually put $1500.00 on it. We have used it on purchases in the Caribbean and eastern Europe. Never had a problem. They even do the conversion into the local currency. I went through AAA but a large number of banks offer similar products.
