attention emily_Required South Africa vaccinations on this trip ?
My husband and I are booked for the August 22, 2013 Botswana, South Africa, and Zambia trip. After reading all the Tauck posts I want to be clear on the shots required ( hep a, hep b and yellow fever???) I don't want to have to spend time in Capetown getting shots last minute. What shots are required for this trip and documentation ( letter from doctor or what type of proof ???)

We just went in May so this is what I know. When you go to the travel doctor you get an immuniization record to carry with your passport. This is the documentation.
Yellow Fever, must have to get into South Africa after Zambia unless the doc writes an excuse for you on the documentation (I understand "too old" is an excuse). We had Hep A but not B. We also had Typhoid Pills we took before the adventure (more powerful than the shot and good for 5 years), Polio Shot, DPT Shot, and Malaria Pills for and after traveling. I can say we ate everything and neither of us got sick at all. We always carry Immodium and I hear Pepto Bismol is good to take prophalactically. I also carry Benedryl, although I understand it could have been confiscated in Botswana as it is not allowed. Don't ask me why.
