Camera recommendations

Hello fellow Tauckies!

I will be going on a Tauck Safari this coming November and need a good camera! Any recommendations? (keep in mind that I have only ever used "point&shoot" cameras so am looking for one that is user-friendly!)

    I suggest that you look at the Canon Powershot SX50 HS camera. It is a high end point & shoot camera with a 50X zoom lens (great for wildlife) and very good video capability. I find it very comfortable to hold and operate. It also has an articulated LCD screen, enabling you to compose the picture while holding the camera over your head or at knee level. Try it out at a local camera store to see if it meets your ease of use criteria. I don't know the current street price, but I think it is under $500.
