I have read that it is a good idea to take Malaria medication before and after this trip. Has anyone who has traveled to South Africa done the same?

    We took this trip several years ago and we did take the malaria shots before the trip. We also took insect repellant spray that was high in deet as a precaution.

    I went on this trip this past May. I would strongly suggest that you go to a Travel Clinic in your area. Take a copy of you itinerary, so the doctor can see where you will be and the number of days.
