Foreign currency

Do you recommend we have some Australian and New Zealand currency with us?

I would recommend that you carry a little of both as US dollars are not accepted as currency in either NZ or Australia. There are squillions of ATM's around that enable you to get as much of the currency as you desire. Our ATM's in Australia distribute either $50 or $20 dollar bills or a combination of both. Enjoy your trip down under.

I am from England, so not sure what exchange rates are like for those in US, but we took Australian and NZ currency with us. Cards are accepted almost everywhere but there are incidentals all along the line. Don't forget you will need some for your Director's Gratuity after the tour. Can easily change any spare Australian into NZ when you change countries. We usually manage ours so that we take none back home after switching to cards.
