Panama Canal - sea sickness

I prone to sea sickness and would like to know how people fared on such a small ship.

  • It was very rough one night in the Caribbean and slightly bumpy occasionally. My wife who is prone to motion sickness used a prescribed patch once we started the Canal transit (We started the trip in San Jose). She also used the wrist bands while on the ship. She had no problems with sea sickness. (In prior trips without the patch, she had gotten seasick.) As an aside, I would recommend locking the safe in the closet even if you are not using it. In rough seas, the door will bang with every roll of the ship. This can be very annoying.
  • We had the same thing. Little rough on the first night but the Captain tells you this as do the cruise directors and they wait until night before traveling so you are in bed.
