We stayed several days extra on Malta at the end of Treasures of the Mediterranean cruise. The island is very hot so be prepared. We took the ferry over to Gozo and traveled around. Make sure you see the Azure Window which is beautiful and a trip highlight. We also visited the Ġgantija Temples in Xagħra, Gozo, which has two temples dating back to between 3600 and 3200 B.C. Prior to heading out watch the movie in the Visitors Center in Valletta down by the fort as it's well done and quite informative. The center was within walking distance from our hotel but the walk might be a little robust for some given the heat.
