Wondering about the temperature while cruising between New Zealand and Australia during January 22- February 2nd. and what activities are available aboard the ship - seems like there are a number of days at sea

Generally speaking, of course it will be summer. It will also be windy, ergo it might be more chilly than you would otherwise expect. And of course, the Tasman Sea does rate as one of those "notorious" stretches of ocean. Appropriate medication might be required.
