5 not to miss attractionsin in Sydney
We're putting the final touches on our April departure, and could use some "not miss" places to visit in Sydney, and which are not covered by Tauck. We have more then a day to wander this great city on our own, and would love to hear how past travelers covered what is not part of the tour. Very much appreciate all of the great tips we constantly pick up from the forum dialogue.

Some quick suggestions:
Take a ferry over to Manly; visit the Art Gallery of New South Wales; visit the Sydney Opera House; stroll around The Rocks; visit the PowerHouse Museum; Hyde Park Barracks; Taronga Zoo; Royal Botanic Gardens.
With a whole day to gain an impression of a city with a population of just under 5 million people, you'd better get your skates on. I see Miami has a population of around 5.5 million. Boston's population, a sister city to Melbourne, is about the same as ours here in Melbourne.
Sydney maintains sister sister connections with:
San Francisco, California, USA, since 1968. (By contrast, San Francisco has a population of approximately 825,000.)
Nagoya, Japan, since 1980.
Wellington, New Zealand, since 1982.
Portsmouth, United Kingdom, since 1984.
Guangzhou, China, since 1985.
Florence, Italy, since 1986.
Cheers,
Jan
