High water on rivers-how is Tauck effected

For the moderator...are any of the Tauck boats stuck on the flooding rivers in France and Germany? If so, what have been the arrangements. We are booked for tour staring May 24 on Seine and Rhine, two of the rivers effected. We know this is a risk when planning a river cruise, but are curious what is happening to Tauck tours right now.

Thank you. Jan

  • Hi Jan,

We have a global response team that meets regularly to discuss world issues that might impact travel -- like high water levels on the rivers -- and our team is monitoring the situation. We have had to reroute some itineraries and have had some delays on others, but are striving to keep the impact to as small a level as possible. Unfortunately, we can't really predict what things will be like two weeks from now; hopefully, things will be resolved and everything will proceed as normally for your trip. Rest assured though that if we do have to make any adjustments, we will be in contact with you to make sure you are aware of them as soon as we can.

    I hope this helps!

  • Thanks for the quick reply. I wasn't worried about 2-3 weeks from now...no one can predict that far ahead. Was really more curious about what was happening now. Been reading posts about other cruises lines and their guests, but had seen nothing about Tauck. Jan
