Has anyone used the app Viper. On the Kenya-Tanzania trip?

Can't speak to Viper, but we used Skype (voice only) successfully at all hotels though sometimes from the lobby or other areas with better wifi signal than the rooms. Anything with pictures attached may be a problem as that requires more bandwidth.
