Australia and New Zealand Tour 12/8/11

If you are going to Australia and/or NZ, any departure date, please join our discussion.
We are from the Philadelphia, PA suburbs. First trip with Tauck.
My questions:
For those of you who have previously traveled with Tauck using internal charter flights:
1. How firm is Tauck's private charter requirement for one bag per person only. (I'm not including 15 lb limit on carry on luggage). It's tough to be away for 21 days plus. We usually take a light weight dress bag for overflow. I will call them and ascertain what the extra charge might be.
And, for all of us:
2. In some places we are on our own in the afternoon/evening. - Any suggestions especially for Queenstown and Wellington?
To the site manager, consider allowing posters to also post a photo as do some other travel websites. The "insert image" box above is not operational.
