Gluten Free Dining

We are taking the tour Sept. 2016 and my wife has Celiac Disease and has to eat gluten free. How accommodating are the guides with working with the restraurants for special requirements?

  • Shouldn't be a problem. One of the first questions Tauck tour directors ask is whether anyone has food allergies or other limitations. I have seen TDs accommodating food allergies or preferences (like vegan) on several trips, including the China tour. They call ahead to the restaurants and arrange for special dishes, if necessary. To avoid problems at the welcome dinner, I would contact Tauck and let them know of your wife's condition ahead of time. They can then let the Tour Director know in advance.
