Age and the Peru/Bolivia Trip
In response to the question about age and travel to Peru/Bolivia. My husband and I (in our early 70s) just returned from this trip. Yes it is very strenuous and the air is very thin on many of the days. But we did fine, thanks to the excellent tour director (Marcos) and the local guides that helped us to pace the difficult climbs. We had tour members older than we were and they too did fine. We chose not to make the highest climb at Machu Picchu. About half of the group did go on up. The trip was excellent with new discoveries every day.
