Hello. We are traveling in June with Tauck to Peru, Equador and the Galápagos Islands. The CDC has begun to post some warnings for travel in Latin America. Any one talked to their health professional yet on what precautions to take, other than the application of mosquito repellent? Looking forward to the trip and want to be properly prepared.

    The same mosquito has carried and continues to carry the virus for Dengue fever and chikungunya fever. My wife and I have had other trips into areas with this vector and have used picaridin spray or wipes. So far no problems. Obviously spray your clothes and while the instructions tell one not to apply to skin, I spray onto my fingers and apply to my face and other exposed areas.
