Any good "wish I would have known" advice for SA?

in South Africa: An Elegant Adventure
My family and I are going on the 2/6/12 Elegant SA tour and were curious if anyone that has taken this tour has any advice that is not necessarily covered in the Tauck docs. Every time I travel to a new place, there's always something that I know I need to do/or be prepared for next time. Any and all thoughts appreciated!

    About the mostinformal of all the tours we've been on. Bring lots of shorts. Sunscreen. Not a lot of trouble with skeeters, but there are a whole lot of bugs in Africa! Long - really long - lens for your camera (one of our group rented a 400 mm lens for his Canon and got lovely shots) or binoculars
