Question re: Hotel Amenities
I posted the questions below to the "Best of Ireland" thread in error. I couldn't figure out how to delete my post. I'm re-posting to the proper "Best of Ireland - Small Groups" thread. Sorry for any confusion if you're seeing this in both places.
_My wife prefers to wear slippers in hotel rooms. In prior Tauck tours, she brought a few pairs of disposable slippers from home only to find many/most hotels provided them. Does anyone recall if this is true for the "Best of Ireland - Small Groups" hotels? Any other good amenities to be aware of, such as hotel umbrellas for temporary use by guests? If so, that would be a few less items to pack for our upcoming tour in September/October. Many thanks in advance. _

We went on this tour in May and loved it! Bailey is one of the best Tauck tour directors we've had. I cannot remember if all of the hotels provide slippers, but many of them do. They are of varying quality, though. My husband brought a sport coat but only wore it once, to the dinner in the fancy restaurant at Ashford Castle. They provided nice jackets for men who had not brought one. A few nights were designated as "dress for dinner" but most of the time people just wore what they'd had on that day. Of course we were blessed with 12 straight days of sunshine (highly unusual) and only the last couple of days were overcast and drizzly. We loved the trip! The Delgados
@TheLad -- Thank you for the information. I hope we're lucky enough to also have Bailey for our tour, and if we can have half as much sunshine as you that will be most welcomed! We're packing for the worst-case scenario and hoping for the best. Glad you enjoyed it!
The first hotel in Dublin will likely have slippers. Keep them with you to use in any hotels that do not provide any. If you come across better slippers in subsequent hotels, keep them and leave behind the first ones you picked up.
