I understand but I have a long frame and the straps are never long enough for me. Sadly, there are people who need backpack etiquette. I’m always being hit by them when traveling.
I have a tote that matches my luggage but it is not structured well and things get lost in it. I use it for flights only and use one of my cross-bodies while touring.
I’m on a mission to find a nice, structured tote that I can use for travel and shopping outings.
If you are looking for a tote look at Aer including there gym tote, evergoods, matador and Tom Bihn. These may not be as structured as you like but they may fit the bill. I particularly like Tom Bihn because the have internal o rings that I clip organizers of various sizes to

I'm not a backpack person either, and will probably never use the straps - may even cut them off 😱. The bag would be perfect for me without them. I had looked at their tote bags, which looked too big. I might suggest to them that they offer this as a carry bag just as it is but without the backpack straps...
I steer clear of those whirlwind tours. Just back from a week in Madrid, gorgeously bedecked for the holidays. And if you're looking for something beyond German Christmas markets, Madrid's month-long Feria Mercado de Artesania is an elegant miles-long day out, 130+ artists. Not to mention all the museums; Matisse at the Caixa Forum was high on my list. Cheers.
