Music of America - Anyone done this trip?
Just saw "Music of America: Nashville to New Orleans" in a Tauck brochure. I think one departure begins today (4/30/26) and this may be a new tour this year?? Any relevant comments/experience would be welcome.
Thanks in advance.

I will post this in both places. Recently took this tour and overall it was well-organized, an excellent experience, and included a lot of activities. Local guides were all great and we saw so much in each city. Besides the Grand Ole Opry and various museums, we had several private musical events along with the private experience at Graceland which was wonderful (but we had only about 30 minutes to explore the museums/costumes after dinner). There were also a few surprises that we enjoyed. Many on the tour were very disappointed that the Peabody Hotel was replaced with the Memphis Westin. That, along with another Westin in Jackson, were just ok and not an elevated experience. Of course, the Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton were outstanding. Several provided meals on the tour were really subpar, others were excellent (particularly the farewell reception and dinner at the Ritz). It was a very busy schedule. We had to be on the bus either at 8:15 or 8:30am every day. Luggage had to be ready by 7:15am the days we switched hotels. Lots of extended standing during the museums (some opportunities to sit at times) but we never had to walk very long distances. Dress was casual during the day and for most meals. Bring comfortable walking shoes. For several dinners, "church attire" was more appropriate. This was an expensive tour but we felt it was a decent value.
We just returned from this tour. We had the April 30 departure. We had the small group departure on April 30. It was great. Four Seasons hotel in Nashville was awesome. We had our welcome dinner there in a private room. Open Bar with dinner choices. Everyone raved on the dessert. Tom was our guide. Breakfast was in the restaurant and à la carte. Wonderful. If you love learning about American music you will love this tour. We took our gift of time here. The evening we arrived we headed up to Broadway a short walk from the hotel. Many great clubs and music. More like New Orleans was many years ago. So on the next day we took a golf cart tour. Unfortunately it was very windy which contributed to the windchill and our guide was somewhat blah. We took an uber to the meet up location. We saw many many murals! Tauck does a similar tour but on the bus while you’re there. Then that evening was the welcome dinner. We were disappointed we did not stay at the Peabody in Memphis. We were delightfully surprised with how many à la carte breakfasts and alcohol was included. Great trip but be forewarned early breakfasts and early departures.
Highly recommend! There were 6 of us who traveled in this group of 24. I leave the rest for you to find out!
Thank you all. Missed the earlier thread.
