My husband and I will be on the Grand Alaska tour departing July 22. It will be our first cruise, so we had questions about formal night. We don't want to bring really dressy things, so what are some of your thoughts?
Do any of you ladies play Mah Jongg? I think they have tiles on the ship; it might be fun to do on the all day cruising days.

    I have been on a few cruises and I would not stress over the dress up nights. A nice pair of black pants with really nice blouse or a nice dress that is just a little dressy. I bought a really nice dress for 50 dollars on my 1st cruise. The accessories put back about 100. I have not been able to wear it again and took up too much room with only one use on the trip. I would suggest a nice black dress with a few pretty scarfs and some jewelry. You can get away with that one dress for several nights. And no one is going to think oh she wore the same dress more than once.
