September 9 Amsterdam to Basel
Greetings fellow travelers! We are booked on this cruise. Watching the river situation, and wondering what everyone else is hearing. Have not called Tauck yet, planning on doing so next week. Hoping for some rain soon!

Things are not likely to change much by September 9th. Call Tauck.
As previously mentioned, unfortunately, it is best to wait it out. If Tauck does not cancel the tour but modifies it, you will likely have the same problem that someone else mentions on the forum, you will not get all your money back. If it cancels, you will get everything back including the installation premium you can apply to a future tour.
If you read the small print, Tauck reserves the right to modify tours and in extreme circumstances outside of their control. As things are going…..Like many many people canceling, they might decide to just issue vouchers.
Thank you for the replies. I'm familiar with how it works, done this before several times, although not with Tauck. I was mostly looking to see if any others on the same cruise are here, and what they may have to say...
I did call Tauck yesterday since they are closing the office next week and got the reply I expected. The cruise is operating, but a change of ships is expected. No other details are available at this time.
Received an email stating that the cruise is operating as scheduled, but still possible some "changes" may be required.
Letter came this morning with potential ship swap which would affect days 3 to 5. It looks like this could be approximately eight hours of bus time possibly worse. The water levels are dropping. They are offering a full refund, which tells me that disruption may be significant wonder what others are thinking
Received the same letter. We will make a decision tomorrow, but are leaning to continue with the cruise as my sister is planning to pick us up in Basel (she lives an hour away) and then we spend a few days with her and attend my great niece's wedding. Or we could cancel the cruise and our flight to Amsterdam and just make it a roundtrip from Geneva. It looks like a ship swap is very likely, and we can live with that, but we would not want to deal with hotel stays.
Snakepilot, we re traveling this itinerary later this month and following this discussion with interest. Did the letter from Tauck provide details about the possible changes to the itinerary, excursions, meals, etc. I am trying to understand how you can make a difficult decision in the absence of real details. Thanks
