When someone decides they need to fix something that isn't broken. I will admit I do not like unnecessary change, but the old message board was IMO much easier to read. I do not like the formatting; I don't like how the initial poster and most recent poster are set out; it was easier to see new messages when they were yellow and not simply in bold; the color scheme - like at the top with the blue banner and the Tauck word is hardly discernible against that color. UGH.

Thank you for posting about this. I’ve spent almost an hour rebooting, clearing cookies, et al, thinking there is something wrong. The formatting is not right. I’m still hoping that it will miraculously return to normal.

…and now the little edit dial doesn’t work so when AI “corrects” something and makes it wrong you can’t go back and fix it. 😝 Above, where it says “sonic” it’s supposed to be “so I.” 🙄

Looks like "edit" on your existing mesages are not working. I assume that will be fixed later.

Yeah, this was not a good idea IMO. I guess they figure since we're old they have double the size of the typeface. Not cool, Tauck!

The writing is smaller on my devices.
Every time Tauck makes a change to its website and now this, I find it not as good as before.
Re the editing feature, it has never been active if you send a private message to anyone, so maybe this will be an ongoing change.

it does seem to be way more scrunched up on the phone - but if you “grab” it or spread your fingers on it you can stretch it and make it bigger…of course then you can’t always see all the information without having to scroll back and forth.

This whole website “do-over” strikes me like when I was in the military and a new Colonel would come in and change things that did not need to be changed so they could have a line on their performance report about “revamping” or “updating” or something…rather than doing something that really mattered because that would have been hard. 🙄

Not only not an improvement in looks but I don't see anything that improves the forum at all. No added features including the one I want most - to be able to mark a thread as read if you aren't interested in it.

Tauck - if you're listening - how about explaining what you are doing doing here and on the main website. Why? What improvements for travelers and your staff? All we're seeing is confusion and no improvement over the old system.

I’m getting accustomed to it, but I don’t find it to be intuitive at all. When I return to the “Discussion” section after reading a post, the entire column is truncated.

It looks like there was an elementary school field trip to corporate headquarters and the kids were let loose in the IT department.

Just like with the river cruises —(I feel like they could have eased some concerns by actually using their "travel Update" section - which is extremely poorly monitored by Tauck - and put a general message out there that these decisions are on-going and we're monitoring the water level situation, etc…) - they could have given us a heads up with the message board as well. Tauck notified us that they were revamping their reservation system — they could have advised us they were updating (if that's what you call this 🙄) the message board so it didn't just hit us all cold — I know I might not have liked the changes, but I would have been more tolerant if I had known it was coming.

Speaking of which - why not do something helpful with the website - like actually use the Travel Update section? I think that would be more welcome to travelers - and staff alike - who have probably taken a million calls about the situation with the river cruises…

I don’t mind changes if there is some benefit, but I don’t see any enhancements to the functionality of the site. Perhaps when fully operational, I will have a different opinion.

A forum (like this one) uses a commercial forum software product - purchased from some company. That company provides bug and security fixes to the companies who purchased the software.

Eventually the company providing the software comes out with a new version and the old version is deprecated, meaning that support is no longer provided. That effectively forces the purchasing company to convert to the new software, especially because there are no longer any security fixes.

It sort of like your smartphone. They keep coming out with new versions of the software that change things and you pretty much have to update your phone.

ohhhh - I might have found it - if you click on your little icon there is a link that says message - I think that’s it.

I found a way to send a message. Go up next to your log-on icon in the upper right corner of the webpage. There's an icon that looks like an envelope. Click on that and it opens a drop-down list. In the upper right corner of that list is an icon that looks like a piece of paper with a pen over it. Click on that to open a "New Message".
