I took this trip this past May. if you look at the "Destination Information" at the bottom of "See Full Itinerary" for this trip at the website you will notice that the temperatures are the same in May as September, except that Victoria Falls is warmer in September.
I wore jeans and a short sleeve shirts in Cape Town and Johannesburg and a light jacket as needed. At Sabi Sabi and Tinga, I wore shorts (travel pants - convertible pants) when not on safari. While on safari I zippered on the legs. At Victoria Falls, I wore shorts.
