Reading

I highly recommend Rian Milan's My Traitor's Heart for a liberal Afrikaner's account of contemporary SA. It was also on the Tauck recommended reading list.

Not on the list but worthwhile is James Mitchener's The Covenant.

Is anyone acquainted with Into the Cannibal’s Pot: Lessons for America from Post-Apartheid South Africa, by Ilana Mercer. Amazon quote's its inside flap:"The daughter of a leading anti-apartheid activist blows the lid off the new South Africa"

I haven't read it, but I was surprised that Michener's book was not listed.
  • I enjoyed retreading Cry the Beloved Country and just read When A Crocodile Eats The Sun.
