Prague

I see that the currency in Prague is the Koruna and that credit cards are NOT routinely accepted. I would appreciate any advise from the experienced concerning the best alternative for paying for goods and services while in Prague (ATM, convert $ to Koruna before leaving the US, etc.)

  • We were in Prague two years ago and ATMs were widely available so we had no problem getting Koruna (Czech Crown). $1 = about 25 CZK. Some of the more upscale shops and restaurants accept Euros or credit cards but you'll do better with cash. There are many ATMs around Old Town Square, at Wenceslas Square and on the street from Charles Bridge to Lesser Town Square. You won't have a problem finding a working ATM.
