California Sanfrancisco Yosemite vs John Muir

Just wondering, is there a difference in one from the other when it comes to seeing the tallest trees? Do they go visit the redwoods?

Thanks for any info.

Coast Redwoods and Giant Sequoia are two different species, both impressive. Coast redwoods (found in Muir Woods near San Francisco, as well as other locations along the Northern California coast) grow taller, but are less massive at the base. So the tallest trees are found along the coast and the biggest (most massive) are found in the Sierras. The tress in Muir woods are not the largest of the coast redwoods. Those would be found at the "Avenue of the Giants" in Humbolt Redwoods State Park and in the Redwoods National and State parks near Crescent City. Neither are close to where you would go with Tauck. Tauck normally goes to the Mariposa Grove in Yosemite, but it is closed for restoration until Spring 2017. Other groves in the Sierras are not easily gotten to on a Tauck tour. So my best advice is go to Muir Woods on a day tour from San Francisco. Many tour companies will take you there.

    I hope this helps.
