June 4, 2016 Capri, Amalfi...

Can someone give us some clothing advice. For instance, dark or light for evenings? Are shirts without collars okay in the days? Etc.

We took this tour last year. Capri and Amalfi are touristy resort areas, so casual during the day is definately OK. Italian men don't wear shorts (they think they're for children), but you will see tourists in shorts. A little nicer daywear might be a good ideas in Rome. It is a major city and you will find the locals dressed to the nines (Google "La Bella Figura"). For the evenings, I would be sure to have a jacket, if you're a man and a dress or dressy pantsuit for women. Some of the restaurants are quite nice and it would be a good idea to dress the part. You won't be turned away by the on tour restaurants for under dressing, but you will be a better match for your surroundings if you have some dressier clothes. Hope this helps.
