I usually get set with currency before leaving home but find Tanzanian shillings are not available to me through the banks I've tried. I've heard that US currency is accepted in Tanzanian. I assume I can get currency at the airport in Arusha. I would like to know what past travelers have found most helpful regarding currency in Tanzania.

    I was on your tour last winter and there is absolutely no need for any foreign currency. Really no place to spend cash since all your meals etc. are in the hotel which you will have a credit card on file. Any local purchases can be made with dollars. It was the greatest trip I ever took. Enjoy!!!!
