Shoes etc.

What about shoes, etc? Sneakers/sandals OK? Or de we need boots? Flip-flops?

What will be the weather like in July?

We went at the end of May, so I cannot speculate on July weather. But I think you will want closed shoes. There are many times you are walking in "natural" areas, and I would not take a chance on running into some red ants or other biting insects. None of us wore flip flops or sandals unless we were going to the pool or walking around a hotel.

Also, you have to take your shoes off if you want to stand on the seats of the safari vehicles to get a better view of the wildlife.

    Have a great trip!

Just returned from the June 16 Kenya Tanzania Classic Safari. Fantastic trip, like no other. No need for boots; but closed-toe walking shoes or sturdy Ked-type shoes for daytime. Took flip flops only for around pool.

    LAlady & Ilene,

Thanks for the tips. Will be leaving in two days for July 11 tour. My wife and I are both very excited. We will be ecstatic if we see even 50% of all that people talk about. Hope we do. Thanks again.
