Footwear

What sort of footwear is needed:are sneakers sufficient during the day, or should we bring light hiking boots?
Any other suggestions?

Hiking boots are definitely NOT necessary. There is very little walking on this tour. Most of the time, you are in the vehicle being awed by the animals!

I would suggest closed shoes, however. At the times when you do leave the vehicle such as restroom stops, there is often high grass and possibly red ants. Our friend, who wore sandals, admitted his mistake.

Sneakers are fine; however, there are times when you must take your shoes off to stand on the seats of the vehicles to look out of the roof of the vehicle. Slip-ons like Keds or boat shoes would be easier to get on or off several times during the day.

    Hope this is helpful.
