Early day in Warsaw.

We're going on the Warsaw, Vienna, Prague, Budapest tour August 26/27. Are there recommendations on things to do and see in Warsaw during the one day early arrival so that we don't duplicate what we'll see with the tour?

Thank you for asking this question. We are going on this trip at the end of September and have the same question. Any responses are welcome - Thank you, Shayne

We took this fantastic Tauck tour, one of our all time favorites, in '05, and arrived in Warsaw 2 days early. A highlight of our free time before the tour started was a visit outside the city to beautiful Wilanow Palace and Park. The concierge arranged for 4 of us to visit the palace for an English speaking tour. We took a taxi there and back. We loved the tour, and I would highly recommend it. I think buses go there during the summer, but we were there in the early spring. In the Old Town we toured the Royal Palace, which is much more beautiful on the inside than on the outside. We were there on a Sunday, and it was free. There is a charge on other days. Although the Tauck tour goes through Old Town, we also went there on our own when we could see it leisurely. Holy Cross Church, which isn't far from the hotel, is where Chopin's heart is interred. We would have liked to have visited Zelazowa Wola, which is outside the city, but we didn't have time. It was Chopin's birthplace. Close to the hotel is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Have a great trip! We'd love to go back!
