Agra Oberoi Amarvilas, India, Days #4 & #5

In Agra we stayed for two nights at the first of a series of Oberoi hotels in India. Each of these hotels claims to be the #1 hotel in India and I am sure one of them on the Tauck tour really is the #1 hotel in India. The Agra Amarvilas Oberoi was incredible. The strongest feature was being able to view the Taj Mahal from the room window (when the pollution cleared briefly). The Taj is located a short 15 minute walk or 5 minute ride away on the only road to the mausoleum. The hotel is a quiet oasis from the crowds on the street. The street is an action packed place to visit. This hotel has a win-win location. A great hotel to stay at.

    Thank you for your review. We are on this tour next year. When you visited Varanasi, did they include time to walk around the Ghats?

    Dear Jim,
    You will walk along, up and down the Ghats (the Ganges steps to the water). At least 4 Ghats if memory serves me correctly.

    I should add, that there is little to no free time on the India tour. Go, Go, Go
