Currently on MS Savor-Amsterdam to Milan
We are currently on this tour (day 7). Everything has been very good. Weather, river levels, food, service, etc. our tour is on the MS Savor. Ship has been very nicely updated.
Re: Free Time Suggestions
Cheesi...I was on this tour in December 2019 and again partially, with the Northern India and Nepal tour, in December 2023. Perhaps the itinerary has changed because there was NOT a lot of free time. The hotels are fabulous and you barely have time to enjoy the amenities. I hope you get Sid as your TD. It's a GREAT tour--It's in my Top 3. Enjoy.
Re: Switzerland: Europe's Crown Jewel - September 2024
We are currently on the trip in LUzerne.. Our tour director told us that the Glacier Express is just a slow 4 hour train ride. With the local 2 hour train you get to see more of the natural countryside and it was a delight. The hotels do not for the most part have AC. Be prepared to be warm at night.
Re: Extra days in Edinburgh
I wrote a review of the tour from our Jun 2023 trip including what we did on our extra days.
Re: Forum bug
You can also use "Home" at bottom where it says Home * General. That is helpful if it is a long threads, it saves you from scrolling to the top of the thread.

Wildfires, Smoke and Jasper
August 9, Best of Canadian Rockies -- The news reports seem dire, to include the evacuation of Jasper, but reading some of the posts it seems the weather is NOT impacting this Tour. Have heard nothing from Tauck. Has anyone heard anything different?
Re: Upgrade to a Gold Riverview Room at Fairmont Le Château Frontenac
The Frontenac is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in and I would absolutely pay for an upgraded room, especially if it was on one of the higher levels.
Judy05 - Please do report back and let us know how you enjoyed your experiences. Quebec City, especially the old town area within the walled city, will remind you of Europe. The overall trip was one of our favorites and I plan on doing it again. And I agree that we all have different likes and dislikes—there is no right or wrong when it comes to personal preferences. Enjoy!

Re: Part 2 of my report…much delayed
We live near Philly. We like Qatar air, but last year they stopped flying out of Philly so we flew from JFK as the service is so much better. At one time, there was only one airline that flew into Arusha, that was the DELTA/KLM flight via Amsterdam. Now, as well as Qatar, Ethiopian and I believe Turkish go there. We never liked the Delta KLM flight, your bags often don’t make it. I read recently that one in seven bags on that flight don’t make the leg from Amsterdam. That happens to us too..
