We are taking this trip in August on recommendation of our Africa specialty travel agent. Cooler, drier weather will mean more animals at watering holes.
Bare in mind that it is exceptionally cold at night in August, but that is when we did the tour I think. Just take hat gloves and coat for early morning drives, once the sun comes up you can remove layers. Same on evening drives, as soon as the sun goes down it cools off quickly.
We're going on Sept 8 trip. Figuring out the best time of the year is like trying to predict when the autumn foliage will be at it's peak. Hope everyone has a great time.
