Baths in Budapest?

We have an extra day in Budapest at the beginning of our trip and were thinking of visiting one of the bathhouses (Gellert perhaps?). Would appreciate any information as to whether the bathhouses are worth the visit, which ones are the best, and if it is necessary to book in advance.

    We're going this week but everyone we've spoken to has suggested a visit. We're heading to szechenyi spa Friday - can try to report back afterward if your interested.

    Would definitely be interested to hear about your experience. Would like to know if you booked in advance. And was there a bathing cap requirement for some pools?
