Do the Tour Directors in Australia prefer to be tipped in USD or AUD? I don't want to carry an excess of cash if it's not needed, but am happy to do so if it's preferred.
Our TD primarily did tours in Australia/New Zealand and Canada. We tipped him in AUDs as he was in Australia quite often. You won't know until you get there what the TD's home country is so AUD is a safe bet.

The AUD is not currently doing well so when I travel in Jan/Feb 2023 I already got USD for the tip. That should be a very welcome tip!
Right now, 1 AUD is only 66 cents US…so keep that in mind if you do the suggested TD tip in AUD…the suggested Tauck tip is in US currency.

Very true but conversion rates need to be considered if tipping in foreign currency.
