    Yes indeed they can be. Well tsetse flies no as far as I can remember but mosquitoes yes! Take precautions

    We were there in their Springtime. Neither flies nor mosquitos were a problem in S. Africa, however we treated our clothes and took Malarone for malaria. In Victoria Falls, the mosquitos were more abundant. Just like in the US, these pests are seasonal.
