Hello fellow travelers: I am leaving for Egypt 4-5-20 trip. I was trying to purchase some Egyptian pounds thru Bank of America. They are not selling. Did anyone buy money before they got there?

    I went to Egypt a few years ago (before Tauck reinstated its trips), and recollect that I could not buy Egyptian pounds in the US (though it would have been through TD Bank). I went to an ATM my first day in Egypt, though not at the airport.

    Buying foreign currency in the US is the worst place to do so. Use an ATM at your destination.

    We went on this trip in January (seems like ages ago). We got pounds at the first hotel’s ATM.
