United to eliminate change fees on international flights

Smiling Sam sent me a PM earlier asking if the forum was still working, as it's been so quiet. So somebody had to break today's silence.

Got an email from United today saying they are eliminating change fees on international flights originating in the US. Here's some details:

  • Not much going on. I did receive new Small Ship, and Riverboat brochures yesterday. The available dates make it look like Tauck thinks they might be able to do trips starting in April. As “Colin” said today, many people are chomping at the bit to travel again. When it opens again it will be interesting. A couple of the places we frequent are charging very high prices for popular dates. One place is charging double for New Year’s week compared to the following week. ‘Big’ cruise ships are going to really have to work to get their customers back. On the other hand ‘small’ venues are going to get expensive. I think it may go from ‘not doable’ to ‘not available’ in the space of perhaps a four month time frame.
