International Museum Day
I never heard of it before, but, yes, there is such a thing.
It is celebrated annually on 18 May in many countries. For those on tour now or starting a tour in the next week, be advised that admission to many (most?) "museums," at least national ones, in many countries will be free on 18 May.

International Museum Day in some cities features very late hours, even some all-night openings. The US for some reason has a different Museum Day, this year on Sept. 24. Sponsored by the Smithsonian, museums around the country open their doors. In the past you have had to sign up online.
