May 2 Trip on The Savor

This was our first European river cruise and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had originally scheduled this trip for 2020, as had most of our fellow travelers. The ship's capacity is 130 guests, we had only 82 on board. We were very satisfied with life on board the Savor. The waitstaff, bartenders and cabin attendants worked tirelessly to take care of us. They all expressed gratitude for being able to work again, as did the Cruise Director, TD's, local guides and local performers brought onboard for our entertainment. We were blessed with sunshine and warm temperatures for all but one day, and made good use of the sun deck. The excursions were varied and well run. There was also ample "on your own" time to explore. The food was very good, including local dishes, delicious soups every day, a six course Chef's dinner, an ice cream social on the sun deck and chocolate extravaganza dessert in the lounge. We appreciated the sail past the Budapest Parliament Building the last evening of the trip. It was a spectacular sight, which included a full moon! As one of our fellow travelers remarked a few days into the trip, "This is truly a civilized way to travel."

  • Jersey Girl - Was Arthur’s open? We enjoyed eating a couple of lunches there.

  • Jersey Girl and Guy,

Great trip review. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

  • Arthur's was not open; but coffee, tea, iced tea, cookies and fruit were always available. We hung out there several times, enjoyed a snack, and watched the world go by.

  • Thanks Jersey guys
Good to hear that your trip on the Savor was good. I'll be on the same ship at the end of July.
