On our recent Classic Italy Small groups, during the day every one was wearing some sort of sneaker/athletic shoes. I like my Allbirds quite a bit.
For evening, shoes that were a bit nicer were worn by most folks. I wore sandels, John wore a pair of dressier Eccos. Ecco Soft Lace up Sneaker
For walking tours I like Taos sneakers, which come in a variety of styles and colors. They have great arch support, and I wore them for all of the walking we did in Israel and Jordan. Plus, they don’t look like heavy athletic shoes. I also bring a nice pair of sandals or flats for evenings if needed.
That Ice Palace reception is a new addition since my tour. Yes it was slippery...and cold. I seem to remember we returned to town afterwards on our own schedule.

Can you imagine white shoes in Sedona or in Roussillon France?
The Switzerland tour has the cocktail reception in the Ice Palace at Jungfrau Joch. Very slippery.

We left as a group. Trains down to the bus waiting for us.
