Pre-tour excursion to countryside and a rural town known for crafts

Hello, I am going solo on the 2/14/04 trip to Vietnam,Cambodia and Thailand. I booked a half day tour for 2/14 (formal tour starts at 6:00pm) to visit the countryside around Hanoi--including a village where a traditional craft is made.     I will be in Vietnam for the second time but after you go. What type of craft are you talking about, there are so many. I like the pottery and lacquerware.
