Digital Suica Card for Apple Wallet and Google Pay
Have any previous travelers used the digital Suica card? It is said to be widely accepted across Japan for transportation (except Shinkansen), and by major retailers, convenience stores, vending machines, and many restaurants. Was that your experience, or did you find that many places did not accept it? Would you recommend it?

Never heard of it. You can change money easily all over the place at convenience stores by the way.
Follow-up - we used the digital Suica cards and they were great. If you plan on spending extra time, and taking public transportation on your own, they make getting through the train stations so much easier. You can also use them at vending machines, and in many stores, including the shops at the airport. You can find tutorials for downloading and using the Suica card on You Tube.
Some trendier places (coffee shops, restaurants) at Tokyo take only cards. Obviously, not visited.
Yes did visit trendy coffee shop in Tokyo, rooftop, overlooking the shrine
