Bridges Rome to Sorrento June 2-8

My adult daughter and 11 year old granddaughter will accompany me on this tour this year, 2024. Just curious if there are other girls her age on the tour. It makes it much more fun than just traveling with adults. Suggestions for what to do on free day prior to tour?

  • If you call Tauck they will tell you the ages and gender, but no names, of the kids on tour. Since travelers change, it is best to call when you get close to your departure date.

  • Definitely book a tour of the Colosseum.

  • The Colosseum should be part of the tour, check your itinerary. As far as what to do, a Google search of "off the beaten path" will yield a plethora of sites to see. It depends upon what the girls are interested in. As you are aware, you are going at a peak time so expect huge crowds and be mindful of your personal items. We had a professional tour guide with us in December, as a guest, the only person to have his passport lifted from him, at the Colosseum. You should also find a multitude of Instagram people posting excellent destinations and perspectives. I took my wife and daughter to multple art related sites that are not part of a "tour."

Sorento is small, beautiful with plenty of walking and sightseeing to do. Amafi is incredible, but can't tell you what to expect because it's going to be jammed with people. The chairlift on Capari is a great experience, don't miss it.

As far as food is concerned, man they fed us and they fed us and they fed us. I came home saying I don't want to see pizza or pasta for at least six months. It was all fantastic.

    Have a great time.
