Briggs and Riley Duffle Luggage Question
We leave for the Italia Bella trip next week. We realized our Briggs and Riely duffles are a little larger than the dimensions Tauck has in the information sheet. They are the large Briggs and Riley duffles. Has anyone had a problem with these? I called Tauck and they said it should be fine as long as it was ok with airlines. We fly first class so the airlines are good After reading some of these posts I’m a little concerned. I don’t want to get to Italy and it be a problem with Tauck. I admire and am so envious of those of you that can pack for a 13 day trip with a carry on!!

Ann, I’m still confused about your tour, you are going on the Bridges tour correct? Which means it will be focused on family and kids. It is only 8 days, I know you going in early, but even so, it will be much more casual in terms of clothing than a regular tour. I’m not clear on how big a Briggs and Riley duffel is. Is this intended for your checked luggage or as your carry on? If this is your carry on and you want access to it on the coach, it sounds as if it will be too big for the overhead area. Bridges tours are usually a large group so there may not be room for your bag on empty seats at the back of the coach. Either way, pack light, No one cares about what you wear, especially Bridges tours.
Have a great time and please post a review, I’d like to take my grandkids on that tour.
Yes, it’s the bridges tour because it was the only time we could make work and we are family oriented—so that doesn’t bother us. I’m asking about the checked bags—ours being a large duffle —a little larger than the 62”/158cm not to be exceeded (page 16 of our info packet). Our duffle is a little larger not a lot but still larger. We have days added on days prior and days after as add-ons. So-yes—that’s why I said 13 days. Is the size a restriction or suggestion? Is it because of space on the train traveling to Florence or water transport to Venice. Just looking for helpful insights.
On tour Tauck will handle them for you. But if you plan any independent travel that involves trains you’ll need to lift it on board, store it in transit (the storage areas are not large) where you can see it then unload it. I looked at those duffels on line. They are huge! I know you say you can’t pack light but watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDn9l20NlWw
GOOD GRIEF, Charlie Brown! That was amazing! I usually bring home as much as I take! 😳🫣Thank you for sharing that!!
