Dar Es Salaam Delays
Looking forward to K&T trip next week. Flying Emirates to Dar es Salaam and then Precision Air to Arusha. Lots of negative online feedback on the airport and airline (substantial delays, lost luggage, etc) does anyone have feedback to share? I think too it requires a short outside walk for a terminal change if anyone can confirm. I am solo so just like to prepare. thank you!

It’s ten years since we flew through there. It was a horrible airport with numerous security checkpoints and we went in the business class lounge with a small selection of food with cockroaches jumping all over it. But maybe the airport has been upgraded since then. We were in Tanzania in July and others on our tour flew via Dar and Precision to Arusha airport which is the domestic one, not Kilimanjaro airport. Lost /delayed bags appear to happen most often on the Delta/KLM flight via Amsterdam to Kilimanjaro airport. We always wear safari clothing and take a couple of changes in our carry on just in case.
@British I am not sure a ton has changed in the experience-I do think the additional terminal is new. Agree on the planning-I will not need to check a bag until Dar Es Salaam and will have a backpack I could live out of as a last resort-although my fellow travelers may disagree -ha!
