What to wear

We are departing next week on the Rhine River Autumn cruise. I am so confused about the attire. I read on the forums about how casual it is but the information booklet does not make it sound casual at all. Just see conflicting information. Anyone been on it to know? Also I don’t see in the itinerary a formal dinner at all. Is this correct or am I missing something?

If the booklet's packing list says Coat and/tie for men and does not say it's Optional then at least one dinner on your tour will require it and for women a dress or dressy pants outfit. Most cruises these days say coat/tie optional unless there is a special meal off ship at a palace or similar. For any other special meals like the welcome, farewell or chefs signature dinner its nice but not super dressy. Collared dress shirt/slacks for men. For women a dress or dress slacks and a nice top. Other dinners mostly whatever you wore that day unless it was super casual like athletic wear or jeans and tshirt.
