hotel close to CDG Airport

Return from Morocco has us staying overnight in Paris. Recommendations for a descent hotel close to CDG airport as we leave around 11:00 the next morning. THX U.

  • There's an Ibis Hotel at the airport. VERY small rooms but you can easilty walk from the hotel to your terminal. You go down and walk through some underground passages. Never have to go outside.

  • Google hotels near CDG. Each one of them include the distance to the airport.

  • Your flight from Morocco is about 3 hours. Assuming an early flight you’ve got a good amount of time in Paris. Book a hotel in the city, have a nice dinner (much better than at that airport hotel) have your hotel book an early taxi to CDG (20-40 minutes ride). I’d never pass up a night in Paris!

  • Wildcat03 the potential Issue with the layover in Paris is the flight usually arrives after 8pm. I'm not sure if this is your case. At that late hour, do you really want to venture into the city. The city center is not a hop skip and jump from the CDG airport.

I considered that option as well as it was a later flight (4;30pm) and would have allowed more time in Marrakech (although the late flight to Paris was departing from Casablanca - which was a 3 hour transfer from the hotel). Also someone had that flight but didn't realize they were going to Orly and not CDG - and that presented another issue/headache with transfers--airports on opposite ends.

I'm the type of "when the tour is over, it's over. I spent an extra day on the front end in Rabat and on the back end in Marrakech. Those extra days were wonderful. I had no desire to add another stop along the way to returning home.

    Safe Travels!

  • We flew mid morning Marrakesh to CDG. Stayed in a downtown hotel, had time to wander, do a little shopping and enjoy a nice dinner. The next day our flight wasn't until the late afternoon, so we went to a museum, had a nice lunch and then off to the airport for our return flight to NY.

It would be a shame to miss even one night in Paris - maybe you could stay close to the airport and then cab or Uber into Paris.

It was November and a cold, rainy day. We didn't really have warm clothes, since we had been in Morocco, but luckily we had purchased leather jackets in Fez. With those and some travel umbrellas, we made do!

If you need a place at CDG, I've stayed at Citizen M several times. Very convenient and you can pick up food at M&S Simply Food right nearby.
