TD for Magic of Morocco in Feb ‘25
Greetings- not new to Tauck (5 trips, mostly Bridges) but pretty new to these forums. I see that everyone raves about TD Chris Morrison for the Morocco trips. My husband and I will be on the 2/23/25 tour and surely hope to be with Chris! Has anyone experience with any other TDs on this tour or is Chris the only Tauck TD for Morocco?
Also appreciate any special tips or advice specific to this tour. Thanks

Gina Pillsbury was our TD in January 2024. She was wonderful!
We had Jeff Bennett (close friend of Chris Morrison) and he was just outstanding. He has a great sense of humor and made the trip very enjoyable.
We visited the Fondouk Veterinary Clinic in Fez and made a contribution when we returned home. We were very disappointed as we didn't hear back from them so I emailed Dr. Ahmed Khairoun. We were introduced to him and thought the work he was doing was very helpful to the people trying to make a living in Morocco. His reply was nice and said he would give me updates from time to time but so far it hasn't happened. We visited in October/November 2023.
The trip overall was wonderful and we made this trip after seeing Mike Henderson's video.
Noreen mentioned my video, but I'm afraid my blog is not a video - it's mainly still photographs and text - https://www.mikeandjudytravel.com/2022-1Morocco-01.htm
Chris Morrison was our TD and he was excellent.
We had Jeff for the India tour and I felt he was not the TD that Chris is.
We went Nov 2021- it was the first tour "post" Covid. Todd H. was our TD - we really enjoyed our time with him. While history, art and culture really interests us, we also like to know about where and what to eat and drink. Plus the best coffee drinks! Todd knew all that.
There's no point stressing in advance about who will be the TD on any given tour, especially when things are booked so far in advance. If someone here has the inside scoop on how to secure the best TDs, do tell!
Thank you for your replies. We are very excited about this trip!
We had the pleasure of having Todd H. on what was once called The Paradors of Northern Spain tour. I agree he was exceptional—very knowledgeable of the history, culture and cuisine of Spain and was always engaged with everyone on our tour.
Mike, I apologize for my mistake and should have said blog instead of video. Your blogs are very informative and we really enjoy and appreciate them. We had no intention of visiting Morocco after our Egypt trip but we are so glad we did and thank you!
@Noreen - no problem. I just wanted to clear it up in case someone went looking for a video.
I'd like to do videos, but doing a really good one is a lot of work. You have to take a lot of video, then review it and edit the individual videos to short clips that can be put together to make a coherent story. And you probably want to put a narration track on it - and maybe music. Doing all that takes a lot of time and planning - more than I can allocate to it.
I have a lot of respect for the people who do really good travel videos. Those "travel influencers" really earn their money, in my opinion.
Mike, we are traveling to Morocco in early April. It looked cold there when you went judging by what everyone was wearing. We are flying Air Maroc from JFK So it was good to see you thought it was Ok. Luckily, we love Roman ruins 😀. If we like it, as most people seem to, we want to go to Tunisia and Algeria.
@British - One place I wish Tauck would add to the Morocco tour is Tangier. I've heard that Tangier and the surrounding area are interesting. They have a high speed train between Casablanca and Tangier now.
I didn't know anyting about Morocco before we went, but if I was to do it again, I'd go a bit early and take the train to Tangier - maybe hire a guide to show us the area. People on the web say that the city of Chefchaouen near Tangier is worth the visit.
[Added note: Yes, Air Maroc did a good job. I've been told that they're a bit more expensive than other options but I never did a cost comparison.]
I’ve just finished your very thorough blog, Mike. Thanks so much for including that. Based on your experience I am really relieved we did not book on American Airlines
